Zimmer Biomet introduces its theoretical and practical course encompassing both surgical and restorative aspects of implant dentistry.
Running from 19-21 September in Winterthur (near Zurich), Switzerland, the course is designed for dental practitioners with little or no experience of implant dentistry.
It promises to give delegates the skills and information to incorporate implants into their daily practice.
The hands-on training will give clinicians the chance to practise real-life scenarios on simulation patients.
After completing the course, delegates will be able to offer aspects of implant treatment in simple cases and be able to identify patients who require more advanced specialist care.
Speakers
The speakers at the event will be Dr Ronan Allen and Dr Edward O’Reilly.
Dr Ronan Allen
Dr Allen received his dental degree from Dublin University in 2002 and went on to complete a three-year masters programme in periodontology and implant dentistry at the University of North Carolina in 2009. He currently owns a private practice limited to periodontology and implant dentistry in Dublin. Dr Allen is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, president of the Irish Society of Periodontology and also a member of the Irish Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology and Academy of Osseointegration.
Dr Allen is committed to continuing education; he is a part-time clinical supervisor on the postgraduate course in periodontology and implantology at Dublin Dental School. Annually he presents lectures and offers hands-on courses on both periodontal and implant therapy.
Dr Edward O’Reilly
Dr Edward O’Reilly qualified from dental school, Trinity College Dublin in 1997. He commenced his professional life with a junior house officer role in Dublin Dental Hospital immediately after qualification, which was then followed by both general dental practice jobs and a senior house officer post. This time in general practice allowed Edward to realise that he wanted to go further with his professional training.
Having completed the membership exams to the Royal College of Surgeons at Dublin in 2001, Edward then completed the three-year full-time masters programme in prosthodontics in Dublin Dental School. He now owns a private practice in Dublin, limited to prosthodontics and implant dentistry while maintaining a part-time faculty teaching position in the restorative department in the Dublin Dental Hospital and School.
Edward has recently taken over the role of presidency of the Prosthodontic Society of Ireland and continues to provide a range of continuing dental education lectures and courses for general dental practitioners.
