Held in Crawley, the course holds a maximum 24 delegates, with 91 hours enhanced CPD also on offer.

About the Foundation of Implant Dentistry
The Foundation of Implant Dentistry course is the first stage of the ITI education pathway. It covers both foundation and intermediate levels. ITI fellows and members teach the modular course. In the tradition of the ITI, the faculty consequently combines its wealth of implant experience with the ITI philosophy of treatment for the benefit of the patient. The outcome is an evidence-based curriculum in a continuously peer-reviewed course format.
The course offers one-to-one practice-based mentoring for implant education in the clinical environment. Optional supplementary ITI modules to address individual delegates’ training needs are also available.
Dedicated ITI learning content is available to support delivery of the course through the ITI Online Academy, which is also a live textbook with extra content for all modules.
At the end of the course, delegates will sit an exam to receive the ITI Curriculum Foundation Level Certificate. The course also provides all of the didactic teaching for the intermediate level. Once the delegates have completed four fully documented and mentored cases, they will be eligible to sit the ITI curriculum intermediate level exam.
Option of continuing postgraduate education in the MSc in implant dentistry at the University of Bristol is available. Foundation of Implant Dentistry is also approved as prior learning equivalent to the first year of the MSc and subject to assessment on an individual basis. Successful applicants therefore have the option of entry directly into the second year of the MSc.

The ITI curriculum
The ITI curriculum is a universally standardised education curriculum aimed at dentists who are relatively new to implant dentistry. Dentists who enrol in courses that follow the ITI curriculum can be assured of receiving a comprehensive and high standard of dental implant education based on the ITI philosophy and principles for provision of implant therapy.
The ITI curriculum is also designed to be delivered in a blended learning educational format with e-learning, contact onsite courses, hands-on training, case-based collaborative learning and direct patient treatment under supervision. The ITI curriculum addresses two levels: foundation and intermediate. A structured progress of learning provides a broad theoretical basis in implant dentistry and then successively builds on this knowledge to introduce clinical implementation first-hand experience of treating patients.
